Phasya develops and offers software solutions for measuring ocular parameters from eye images as well as detecting several cognitive and physiological states from these parameters. These solutions can be integrated into head-mounted or remote platforms providing eye images. Indeed eye tracking cameras are increasingly integrated into dashboards, cockpits, eyeglasses, augmented reality and virtual reality headsets, helmets, etc. Thus, by combining Phasya software with eye tracking cameras, our customers can add functionalities, advantages, and value to a great range of devices in various applications. 

Drowsiness detection

Phasya offers software for detecting drowsiness that can be adapted to various specifications of eye images (resolution and frame rate) according to the application requirements.

This software is validated against several scientific references. These references are the Psychomotor Vigilance Test (PVT), the Standard Deviation of Lateral Position (SDLP) in driving simulator, and the Karolinska Drowsiness Score (KDS) based on polysomnography (EEG and EOG).

Furthermore, the level of drowsiness determined by the Phasya's technology is more relevant and reliable than the PERCLOS.  Indeed, the correlation between the indicators of drowsiness in the electroencephalogram (EEG) and the level of drowsiness determined by the Phasya’s technology is higher than the  correlation between the indicators of drowsiness in the electroencephalogram (EEG) and the PERCLOS

Measurement of ocular parameters

Phasya offers software for measuring ocular parameters related to blinks and saccades from eye images. The measurement of pupil dilation (i.e. pupillometry) is also available since 2018.

For each eye image, the software extracts automatically upper eyelid position, lower eyelid position, pupil position, and pupil diameter. From these positions, the software calculates a range of ocular parameters such as the percentage of eye closure (i.e. PERCLOS), the mean blink duration, the blink rate, the average displacement of pupil, etc.

The algorithms for extracting eyelids positions and pupil position are validated against manually annotated positions on 86,000 eye images from more than 200 persons.
